De LP is live opgenomen op een 24-sporen bandrecorder met slechts enkele overdubs en onder alziend oog van een schare Jack-heads bestaande uit Flamoushen, Walloniërs en andere koppigaards (oa. Ieven Jan, Andy Vanlerberghe & Sara Boers). Enkel op deze manier, ontdaan van alle franjes en trucjes, zetten ze technologische verleidingen en make-up buitenspel en laten ze zich van hun meest kwetsbare kant zien. Nederig en toch fier, zonder schaamte en met veel respect doen ze hun ding. Een werkwijze die steeds meer luisteraars en organisatoren weten te appreciëren in tijden van hypercommercialisering. We kunnen hippe woorden als duurzaam en alternatief gebruiken ware het niet dat je ze met deze termen van voorbedachtheid kan beschuldigen en dat is het laatste wat je ze kunt aanwrijven.

Les Generals Jack, depuis les débuts en 1999, cela ressemble à cette créature improbable, composée de 3 têtes non humaines.
Est-ce un craintif monstre de foire? Un simple animal de compagnie? Ou alors une implacable machine de guerre? Le Cerbère … à la Belge ?
Acajou leur 3ème album va aider à décrire un peu plus cette chimère...
Sur Acajou, les instruments et les voix sont enregistrés avec un '24 pistes analogiques à bande'. C'est une première pour Les Generals Jack et comme ils l'ont espéré, cette technique 'à l'ancienne' a permis de tirer le portrait du groupe de manière honnête et réaliste. Les Generals Jack restent fidèles à eux-mêmes avec de l'expérience en plus. Ils aiment être influencés par de nombreux courants (Rock, Soul, Ska/Reggae ...) mais toujours ils se réfèrent à leur leitmotiv « à chacun son Blues ».
Acajou est bel et bien issu de l'imagination contemporaine locale. Il est le résultat de voyages entre le nord et le sud du pays. Les 10 titres
de l'album diffusent une joyeuse mélancolie, une subtile dose d'anarchie.

With their typical « A chacun son Blues » style, nurtured after 15 years of experimenting with Blues, Reggae/Ska, Rock and Soul, they take you on an original musical voyage.
However on this new album Les Generals Jack sound more contemporary than they ever did before.
With Toon Derison(El Fish) on drums, Bart Ieven on guitare de basse/vocal and Marc Bodart (Buttnaked) on vocal/Guitar, this trio delivers its own quirky sound with a sense of infectious anarchy. On top of that, the way they seem to enthusiastically sabotage themselves creates a wonderful anti-establishment feeling. That's why, in times of rigid formats and preconceived expectations, this feel good band feels like a first ray of light after a long winter.
Acajou was recorded live on a 24-track tape recorder with an occasional overdub and under the guidance of a handful of loyal Jack-Headz known for their competence, vision and being as pig-headed as the band themselves (Jan Ieven, Andy Vanlerberghe and Sara Boers). Only in these circumstances, stripped from tricks and artifice, leaving all technology and make-up aside, they were able to reveal their most vulnerable self. Humble yet proud, they’ve shamelessly stuck to their integrity. In times of hyper commercialization this is proving to be more and more appreciated by fans, listeners and organizers.
